For your consideration are two hand woven, Southeastern Native American woven baskets from the mid 20th century. The first and largest in this lot is a Southeastern Cherokee, woven reed construction and was made by Marilyn Kinderatter. It shows a woven reed construction with a rawhide strap around the top. Connected to the rawhide strap is a carved wood ball and small feather. The back shows the original tag reading, "Reed Basket Made by Marilyn Kinderatter" and a smaller tag reading, "#11". The second and smaller basket is a miniature Mississippi Choctaw, hand woven river cane basket. It shows a tan, dark brown and red / brown river cane construction with a small handle used for carrying. It shows good attention to detail and shows a tight weave. The baskets show good condition overall with little wear present and no signs of major damage noted. The larger basket measures 6 3/8" L x 6 1/2" W x 8" H, while the smaller one measures 2 3/8" L x 2 1/2" W x 3" H. They have a collective weight of under 4 ounces.
