The lot features a medium to large hide, beaded medallion rosette from the Southern Plains Native American Indians, dating to circa 1940’s. The piece is constructed of Indian tanned hide with cotton thread sewing, covered on the top in glass trade seed beads in a detailed geometric pattern. The pattern shows a seven-point star with circle center in red, cobalt, sky padre blue, and orange and a sky padre blue background with additional pattern in corn yellow, cobalt, chalk white, butterscotch yellow, red, and greasy green and a fancy border in corn yellow and red. The piece shows little to no bead loss and supple hide, displaying well. Provenance: From a private museum collection in the Auvergne-Rhone-Alpes region of France. The rosette measures 4.75” diameter.
