For your consideration is this early 1900s Southern Plains punch dot engraved pewter and copper axe. This axe features a copper head attached to a long, wooden shaft. The wood shaft is adorned with punch dot engraved and engraved pewter bands set into the shaft. The bottom of the wood shaft is capped with a pewter cap that has been punch engraved and engraved. The copper head shows a greenish color from oxidization over the years. The piece shows good condition overall with wear present from its age and use over the years, but no signs of major damage is noted. The axe measures 21 1/2" L x 5 3/8" W x 7/8" D and weighs 1 pound and 6 ounces.
