For your consideration is this Speer Bullet Caliber Advertisement titled "The Potlatch" by Jack Woodson. The advertisement shows rounds that range from .22 CAL to .458 CAL and states "Speer Omack Industries" on the bottom right corner, artist's signature on the bottom left corner. The Potlatch is an event peculiar and of special importance to Native Americans of the Pacific Northwest. A gift-giving feast of one or more tribes, usually in the Spring, which sometimes included white traders who brought guns, blankets and other goods to exchange for furs collected by Indian trappers. The reverse has a provenance desciption of this advertisement. This depiction features a Nez Perce potlatch on the Clearwater River of eastern Idaho. The frame is constructed from painted pine wood and the artwork shows a depiction of the Potlatch. Speer’s reputation for making the world's finest component bullets and loaded ammunition goes all the way back to 1943 when Vernon Speer started manufacturing bullets because reloaders couldn't get the components they needed from ammo companies during World War II. The condition of this advertisement sign is very nice and shows no obvious signs of damage and is in good collectors' display condition.
