Included in this lot we have a Springfield fire and marine insurance company tin calendar chartered in 1849. The calendar shows the image of a covered wagon pulled by cattle with a cowboy on a horse riding behind. The piece is made of a painted metal plate with a cardboard backing. The calendar is made up of 19 thick paper cards, sixteen day cards and three month cards. The cards are primarily green with black and white numbers one on each side. The month cards share the same colors but are printed with four months pew card. The left side of the piece is marked "Springfield Fire & Marine Insurance Company - Chartered 1849 - Springfield Massachusetts Chicago - San Francisco - Montreal". The calendar shows good condition for its age with some wear across the surface of the piece. The calendar measures 19" tall by 13" wide
