Included in this lot is a Springfield Model 1884 Trapdoor rifle barrel. The model 1884 traces its roots back to the design of the Springfield 1873, incorporating a significant number of improvements. This barrel measures 32 ½” barrel chambered in .45-70. The barrel has the front sight, but the rear sight has been removed. The barrel and trapdoor shows a dark gray patina and the rear sight is broken.
