For your consideration is this excellent first edition of "Stanley's Wonderful Adventures" by J.T. Headley and Willis Fletcher Johnson; it was published by Hubbard Brothers of Philadelphia in 1890. An excerpt from the title page reads, “Twenty Years of the most wonderful adventures the world has known. The most complete, authentic, and thrilling recital yet issued of all his noble, daring, marvelous adventures, grand discoveries, and signal triumphs in opening up a vast continent of untold wealth to the civilized world." The book is 802 pages in length and is richly illustrated. It is bound in brown cloth and has a stamped gilt and black pictorial cover and spine. In addition to the numerous illustrations, the book also has a colored fold-out map. This book is in near-fine to fine condition, showing minimal shelf wear, tight binding, and bright, clean pages and text. The book measures 6 1/4" X 9" X 2 1/2".
