For your consideration is a Rare First Edition of, "Stickeen", by John Muir, 1909. One of Muir's best-known writings, the book is a short 73 page story regarding a dog named Stickeen who was brought along one of John Muir's trips in Alaska. The book detailing their adventures on an Alaskan glacier with Stickeen as a near constant companion, is now considered a classic dog story. Known as the father of the national parks, Muir was a naturalist, author, botanist, zoologist, co-founder of the Sierra Club and instrumental in the establishment of Yosemite National Park.
The brown cloth bound cover is in good condition, slight scuffing and staining noted, intact pages exhibit age tanning and very slight foxing, measures 4.75"W x 7.5"L x .5"D
