For your consideration is this 1915 edition of, "Stickeen The Story of a Dog" by John Muir, published by Houghton Mifflin Company. The book is a short 73-page memoir regarding a dog named Stickeen, who was brought along one of John Muir's trips in Alaska. The book details their adventures on an Alaskan glacier with Stickeen as a near constant companion. It is one of Muir's best-known writings, and is now considered a classic dog story. John Muir, also known as "John of the Mountains" and "Father of the National Parks", was an influential Scottish-American naturalist, author, environmental philosopher, glaciologist, and early advocate for the preservation of wilderness in the United States. This tan cloth bound hardcover is in good condition and features a dust cover protecting the bound book. Slight wear is present to cover and interior pages are in good condition. The book measures 7 5/8" L x 4 3/4" L x 3/4" D and weighs 7 ounces.
