Featured is the 1915 Edition of, "Stories from Indian Wigwams and Northern Campfires", by Egerton Ryerson Young, 1893, The Abingdon Press New York and Cincinnati publishers. Young's deep and obvious love and respect for Native people, and his efforts to convert them to Christianity, are written in the pages of this book. This book will educate those unfamiliar with the incredible ways of survival and existence among the Native people in Canada of the 19th Century, A fascinating look at life in Canada in the 19th century, expresses profound respect for their knowledge, skills, and humour, and reveals the impact of fur trading, the Louis Riel rebellion, and the influx of white settlers on traditional Native lands. Egerton Ryerson Young was a Wesleyan Methodist Minister who served as a missionary among the Cree and Ojibwa tribes in northern Manitoba. Green cloth bound illustrated hardcover in good overall condition, loose spine, scuffing to edges, slight foxing and age tanning on pages throughout, 5"W x 7.5"L x 1.25"D, weight 1lb, 4oz.
