Featured in this lot is this stunning Longhorn 15" buckaroo working saddle. The saddle shows a sure simple and practical working saddle design with a larger horn wrapped in mule hide and plain fenders ended with handmade monel stirrups. The Longhorn brand is closely tied to that of Billy Cook. Billy Cook opened shop in Greenville, Texas many years after serving in the military, where he had met Bill Potts. They partnered because Billy had the shop and Bill had the money. It became Billy Cook Saddlery/Potts Longhorn. The Billy Cook saddles were the upper line saddles and Longhorns were the lower line. The condition of this saddle is good, with wear consistent with use. The measurements of this saddle are 27 1/2" x 17" x 20" and shows a 15" seat.
