Featured in this lot is this original, limited edition Tony Bennett sculpture of a woman stretching in the nude, done in 1983. This sculpture is numbered 111 out of 150. Tony Bennett began formal instruction as an art student at the School of Industrial Arts (now the School of Art and Design) in Manhattan, and he maintained his studies with private studios and tutors over the years. He has experimented with a variety of subjects, explored the complexities of many styles, and learned from the great masters. His paintings have been featured in numerous art publications, including a cover article in Art And Antiques, Artnews, Informart, The Artist's Magazine, and International Artist magazine. He has also presented and exhibited his work as part of the Metropolitan Museum of Art's lecture series. Whether he is performing as Tony Bennett or painting as Anthony Benedetto, his artistry connects the recipient to his unique values and worldview. Tony Bennett is also a visual artist, working under his family name, Benedetto. The painter is the performer's alter ego, expressing a deep and introspective passion. This polished bronze sculpture shows a nude woman, with long flowing hair, stretching her arm out towards her raised leg, in an almost yoga-like pose. The sculpture is signed on her bottom left foot reading, "Tony Bennett, 1983, 111/150". It shows good condition overall with little to no wear present and no signs of damage is noted. It measures 12" L x 18 1/2" W x 12 1/2" H and weighs 24 pounds and 14 ounces.
