Featured in this lot is a late1800s porcelain plaque painting of a partially nude woman done by T & V Limoges porcelain manufacturers in France. T & V Limoges is a porcelain factory partnered by Gustave Vogt (1849-1937) and Émilien de Tressemanes. When they managed the Limoges-based decorating business that John Vogt founded in the 1850s, their partnership officially started in 1882. For the American export market, their factory created premium white ware. Vogt was the sole owner of the company after Tressemanes retired in 1907 until 1919, when Martial Raynaud bought it.
The piece shows a partially nude woman laying on a hide blanket in a field of grass surrounded by foliage and trees with a lake in the background. The woman has black hair and is wearing a gold bracelet on her left wrist, as she holds her arms up in the air. The back of the porcelain plaque is marked with a small stamp reading, "T & V Limoges France". The piece is set in a gold colored frame. The painting shows good condition overall with no signs of cracks or damage present in the porcelain plaque. The frame shows wear and chipping of paint but no major signs of damage are present. The art measures 8" L x 10 15/16" W, while the entire piece measures 12" L x 15" W x 1 1/2" D. The piece weighs approximately 3lb 2oz.*
