Featured in this lot is this tanzanite, diamond, and light blue chalcedony 14k white gold ring. The ring features a 14k white gold four prong setting with an interestingly decorated art deco under gallery and a gold weight of 2.21GM. The center piece shows a unique setting with a pear cut light blue chalcedony cabochon with a weight of 7.08 carats and a wonderful pear cut tanzanite stone weighing 0.61 carats. The shoulders of this ring shows 16 round brilliant cut diamonds weighing 0.12 carats in a pave setting. Tanzanite is a very rare precious gemstone that is only found in the Usumburu Mountains that border the Umba Valley of northern Tanzania. It was originally discovered in 1967 by Tiffany & Company, who named the stone Tanzanite. This example is unique due to its exceptional pleochroism (an optical phenomenon in which a stone has different colors when observed at different angles). The ring shows the 'RI' and 'India' on the inside band of the ring. The ring size is US 7.
