Featured in this lot is this framed newspaper from Butte, Montana's newspaper, The Butte Miner with the headline reading, "Ku Klux Klan Organ Strikes At Davis". An excerpt reads, "Equality of opportunity for all, regardless of race or creed or color, was advocated tonight by John W. Davis, democratic candidate for president, in an address delivered in New York's Harlem before a capacity crowd of negroes…" According to this article, Davis' address angered the Georgia organ of the KKK. The corresponding newspaper article refers to the KKK opposition to Senator Walsh. The KKK and reactionary opposition is the reference. Another lesser article headlined, "Ohio Mayor's Home Is Wrecked by Explosion" discusses the possibility of KKK involvement in the bombing. The piece shows good condition overall with little wear present and no signs of damage noted. The visible newspaper measures 20 3/4" L x 16" W, while the entire piece measures 22" L x 17 1/4" W x 1 1/8" D. It weighs 4 pounds and 10 ounces.
