Available in this lot we have a limited edition print by Elmer Sprunger titled "The Exalted Ruler". Elmer Sprunger (1919-2007) was a Montana born artist known for his landscape and wildlife artwork. Sprunger studied art under Elizabeth Lochrie and spent World War II as a commercial artist for the army. Eventually Sprunger moved back to Montana in the 1950's and became a full time wildlife painter in 1972. Sprunger was recognized for his vivid paintings capturing the beauty of the north west outdoors. This print depicts a group of three bull elk standing in the middle of a field surveying the area with one bugling. The scenery shows a open clearing with golden grass partially covered in snow with large patches of trees. The background shows a cloudy blue sky with snow covered mountains rising in the distance. The piece shows wonderful artistic style and displays the beauty of Montana. The piece is signed in the bottom right hand corner reading "Sprunger". The print is numbered indicating its a limited edition print. The bottom of the piece is marked "The Exalted Ruler Sprunger Copyright 1983, Rex Breneman". The print shows good condition overall with little to no wear. The piece measures 29" wide by 15 1/2" tall.
