The Montana railroad was one of the few railroads that operated at one time or another with all three forms of power: steam, electric and diesel. The line had a difficult start, some years of relative prosperity, and then a long, slow lingering decline. The book is illustrated with black and white photos that show not only the railroad but also Montana as a territory and young state, and timetables and maps.
