In this lot is a fine First Edition of "The Wolves of North America" by Young and Goldman, 1944, both Senior Biologists, Section of Biological Surveys, Division of Wildlife Research, Fish and Wildlife Service, Department of the Interior. The book is illustrated with 131 photographic plates (including 6 in full color), 15 text figures (maps, etc.), and 7 tables. The book is covered in green cloth with gold gilt title on the spine and a gold gilt stamped portrait of a wolf on the front cover. This work is comprised of two separate pieces— “Part I, Their History, Life Habits, Economic Stats, and Control” by Stanley P. Young and “Part II, Classification of Wolves”. The book includes all you ever wanted to know about wolves in North America by two authorities in the field. The original bookmark that came with the book is included. . The book is in good overall condition, minimal scuffing noted to cover and edges, gold gilt is faded on spine, spine is intact. Intact pages exhibit both age tanning and foxing throughout, no other obvious marring noted .The book measures 6.25"W x 9"L x 2"D
