Presented in this lot is a First Edition of "The Yellowstone Nature Book", M.P. Skinner, 1924, publisher A.C. McClurg & Co., illustrated. Milton's classic 1920s guide to Yellowstone National Park's wildlife, geology, and plants, known for its detailed descriptions, black-and-white photos, and fold-out map, reflecting early conservation efforts and combining accessible science with natural history. This guide to Yellowstone's flora, fauna (animals, birds, insects), geysers, hot springs, and scenery blends scientific discussion with photographic documentation for a comprehensive look at the park's natural history. Milton Philo Skinner (1879-1963) was an early Naturalist at Yellowstone National Park, was instrumental in the formation of Olympia National Park and was a conservationist, biologist, and author. The green cloth bound gold gilt stamped illustrated hardcover is in nice condition overall, front cover geyser eruption illustration in gold gilt. Intact pages exhibit age tanning throughout, very slight foxing noted. Measures 5.25"W x 7.875"L x 1"D, weight is 12oz.
