Featured in this lot we have a framed Theodore Wores oil painting of a San Francisco Man. Theodore Wores (1859-1939) was an American painter known for his paintings of San Francisco, Hawaii, and Japan. The painting displays the portrait of a San Francisco man originating from the early 1900's. The man is shows dark brown hair with blue eyes and a goatee. The man is depicted in a suit and tie with a green background. The back of the painting is signed "Theodore Wore" with the portrait untitled. The painting is set into a golden frame with designs across the border of the frame. Provenance: From the renowned Sundog Fine Art Bozeman, Montana collection and collected by Bruce VanLandingham. Bruce VanLandingham was a pillar in the American Indian collecting community and a respected expert. Along with being an avid collector Bruce also was the sole owner of Sundog Fine Art Gallery in Bozeman which was both part museum and gallery. The piece shows good condition overall with some light wear across the piece. The frame measures 21" wide by 25" tall with the art measuring 13 1/4" wide by 17 1/2" tall.
