This is an excellent handwoven flat weave rug by master weaver Pedro Sosa using 100% soft fine handspun yarns in an outstanding Third Phase Antique Chief’s Blanket pattern. The rug was handwoven with a tight weave using 100% handspun wool yarns that offers natural variegation and durability with color fast aniline dyes. Tight handwoven weave showing bright rich colors in the fine Third Phase Antique Chief’s Blanket (3rd Phase) pattern in the time-honored Zapotec multi-generational craft by a master weaver, Pedro Sosa. This incredible example shows Sosa’s traditional interpretation of the 3rd Phase blanket with rich red coloring with stepped diamond at the center and replicated at each corner having a linear typical pattern in black and tan / light brown. The piece is brand new in pristine condition with fine tight weave. The rug measures 5’ by 4’ (five foot by four foot).
