This is an excellent handwoven, flat weave rug by master weaver Pedro Sosa. This rug was made using 100% soft, fine, handspun yarns in a beautiful Third Phase Chief's Blanket pattern. The rug was handwoven with a tight weave, using 100% handspun wool yarns that offer natural variegation and durability with color fast aniline dyes. The tight, handwoven weave displays bright, rich tones in the fine Third Phase Chief's Blanket style, Multicrosses pattern of the time-honored Zapotec, multi-generational craft by a master weaver, Pedro Sosa. The rug shows a phenomenal Navajo Third Phase Chief's Blanket style Multicrosses pattern with amazing quality and eye catching symmetrical patterns. The rug shows multi-scroll decorations in its center with a brown field; each side shows a beige scroll-like decoration with a black strip in its center and brown crosses with red accents around the pegs of the crosses. Each scroll shows five crosses with a lovely numerical pattern shown along its border and in the center of this rug. This rug has black, braided tassels on all four corners. This is such a beautiful, highly designed, one-off rug with a fine, tight weave. The piece is brand new, in pristine condition. The rug measures 4’ by 5’ (4 foot by 5 foot). This is a brand-new rug.
