Featured in this lot is this 1908-09, Thomas Edison Model - H 4 Minute photograph manufactured in Orange, New Jersey. The Edison Model H reproducer was a 4-minute record player component designed for Edison's new black amberol cylinders introduced around 1908-1909. It was created because the smaller, tighter grooves of the 4-minute cylinders required a smaller stylus compared to the 2-minute cylinders played with the Model C reproducer. This phonograph is in working order and can still be wound up to play cylinders. The gears appear to be in good working order as well as the reproducer. The cylinder roll included with the phonograph shows major cracks and damage and does not produce any music. The cone shows good condition and fits well onto the reproducer. It shows good condition overall with wear present from its age and use over the years, but no signs of major damage is noted other than the cylinder. It measures 9 5/8" L x 13" W x 12 3/8" H, with the cone measuring 13 7/8" L and 6 7/8" in diameter at the end of the cone. They have a total weight of 18 pounds and 12 ounces.
