NOW-DISCONTINUED THOMPSON-CENTER HAWKEN .50 CALIBER PERCUSSION RIFLE. Production ceased approximately ten years ago on these American made half stock rifles that show superb quality and feature nicely grained walnut stocks with brass trigger guards, butt plates, patch boxes, forend tips, ramrod ferrules. and case colored engraved lock. They were also equipped with adjustable double set triggers and had a 1 in 48" rifling twist to stabilize "Maxie Bullets" as well as
patched round balls. Loaded with a lubed bullet and a stiff charge of black powder made these rifles suitable for any game in North America at black powder ranges. The 28" octagon barrel is factory fitted with an adjustable rear barrel sight along with a blade /bead front sight. This example is in fine condition overall and is serial number 401480. The barrel is clearly stamped with the Thompson- Center, New Hampshire markings and caliber designation. The walnut stock has better than standard grade wood, making this an especially attractive rifle. These are now beginning to attain collector status because of their out of production status and excellent American quality. They are also desirable for being fine shooting muzzle loading rifles. The Thompson-Center Hawken rifle is becoming less and
less encountered on the firearms market today and will no doubt become more scarce and valuable as time goes on. Serial Number: 401480. This firearm qualifies as an Antique, and does not require FFL Transfer or NICS Background Check.
