This lot features a Thompson-Center, Rochester, New Hampshire made “Patriot” .45 caliber percussion target pistol with antique powder flask. These long out of production, high quality American made pistols feature double set triggers in which the front trigger “sets” for the rear “hair” trigger to fire the pistol with minimal pull weight. This example with serial number 9468 has a lovely walnut stock with brass butt cap, fancy trigger guard and forend cap. The 10” octagon barrel has been finished with a glare proof, heavy blue. It has a finely rifled bore taking a .440” round ball and is fitted with a fully adjustable rear sight with partial globe/post front sight. The 4” antique pistol flask dates from the 1850s and has a sunburst motif on both sides. Spring tension is excellent and the brass spout unscrews for filling. A seldom seen American made pistol. This firearm qualifies as an antique and does not require FFL Transfer or NICS Background Check.*
