Featured in this lot is this collection of three pyrography wood placards circa 1900-1920s. The first in this collection shows a circle shaped wood placard with an intricately designed border and a large portrait style design of a deer head set in the center. The deer is looking to the viewers left and shows a large set of antlers. The wood appears to have been stained and then sealed with a clear coat. The back of the placard shows a date that was burned into the back reading, "Sep. 20th, 1911.". The top of the placard shows two holes with twine for easy hanging. This placard measures a diameter of 14". The second in this collection shows a large oval shaped placard with a Native American woman front and center. Her hair is in two long braids and wears a headband with long tassels and two feathers stuck in her hair. She is also wearing multiple beaded necklaces and looks to the viewers right. The wood placard is slightly burned throughout giving it a textured look. On the top of the wood placard is a metal hook for easy hanging. It measures 19 1/2" L x 13 3/8" W. The last in this collection is a smaller oval shaped wood placard showing a Native American man front and center. He is wearing a large headdress with feathers extruding from the back and tassels hanging down next to his cheeks. His look is stoic as he stares to the viewers right. The edge of the placard is also wood burned giving it a nice border. The placard measures 17 7/8" L x 9 7/8" W. All the placards show good condition with no signs of obvious damage and slight wear from their vintage age.
