The lot features an exceptional authentic original Frosted Glass Crescent Moon Boudoir Lamp from circa 1920. The lamp is thought to be an authentic original manufactured by the Tiffin Glass Company of Tiffin, Ohio in 1920. Tiffin Glass Co. was a subsidiary of the U.S. Glass Co. which was founded in 1892. Later when the U.S. Glass Co. went bankrupt the Tiffin factory employees purchased the inventory and building to continue running the business. Tiffin is highly sought after with the same examples of Crescent Moon Boudoir Lamps being listed for $1,800 on Charish, $1,386 on Decaso, and $1,300 on 1stdibs. The lamp shows a frosted glass shad having an image of a young woman in semi-nude outfit staring at the stars while being seated in the crescent of the moon. The base shows the same frosted glass construction with the same woman seated in the moon. The image is repeated a total of three times on the shade and twice on the base. The lamp has a fantastic American Art Deco artistic design and is truly a rare find. The lamp in in good condition and measures 14" tall by 7" in diameter.
