Featured in this lot are three wind up toys made in the U.S. Zone in Germany from 1949-1952. The first toy in this collection is made by Gescha in the U.S. Occupied Zone in Germany between 1949-1952 and shows an Express Boy in a blue uniform pushing a large luggage case. The luggage case is a light, faded green with a blue and yellow stripe going through the middle of the luggage and shows scattered stickers and writing throughout the piece of luggage. On the top it reads, "Express" in black lettering. On the bottom it reads, "Gescha" twice in black lettering. Below that it reads, "D. R. Patent No. 667474 / Made In U.S. - Zone Germany / 57-1". When wound, the wheels on the bottom propel the Express Boy and the luggage forward, while the Express Boy makes lunging gestures as to suggest he is pushing heavy luggage. The piece shows good condition with some slight wear from its vintage age but is still in working order. The toy measures 3 3/8" L x 2" W x 2 7/8" H. The second toy in this collection is a wind up, pecking chicken that is unmarked with a brand but was made in U.S. Occupied Zone in Germany. The chicken shows colors of black, orange, yellow, green, blue and red throughout the toy. On the bottom of the chickens wing it reads, "Made In US Zone Germany" in black lettering. When wound up, the chicken makes a pecking motion like he is eating feed off the ground and he bounces around. The toy measures 2 5/8" L x 1 1/8" W x 2" H. The last toy in this collection is a wind up toy monkey made in U.S. Occupied Zone Germany circa 1949-1952. The monkey shows colors of black, white, red, blue, yellow, brown and green. He is holding a green ball in his right hand and wears yellow pants, a blue and red jacket and a red hat. When wound, the monkey walks around. On the back of the monkey, it reads in small black lettering, "Made In U.S. Zone Germany". The monkey shows good condition with wear consistent with its vintage age, but is still in working order. The toy measures 2 1/4" L x 1 7/8" W x 3 1/2" H.
