Featured in this lot is this Tohono O'odham Indian hand woven basket, circa early 1900's. The basket shows its age with a slight patina to the beargrass woven construction. A geometric pattern is featured throughout the piece. People of the Sonoran Desert reside primarily in the U.S. state of Arizona and the northern Mexican state of Sonora. Tohono O'odham means "Desert People". The condition of this basket is good, with no obvious signs of damage and patina consistent with the age of the basket. The basket measures 5 1/2" in diameter by 2 1/2" tall.
