Featured in this lot is this framed gouache called "Buffalo Men," by Montana artist Tom Saubert born in 1950. The gouache shows a decoration of three circular cutouts that features gouache construction that features scenic open plains with buffalo hunters riding horses and pulling pack horses behind, tracking buffalo, and also a cameo of a hunter with a buffalo behind the cameo of the man. Each piece of art features the artist signatures in the bottom left and right of the of the artwork. Tom Saubert is a native Montanan that graduated from the Cleveland Institute of Art in 1973 and remains committed to western regionalist and is well known for painting both historic and contemporary west, especially renditions of the people and culture of the Plains Indians. The condition of this framed gouache is good with no obvious signs of damage and in good overall condition. The measurements of this of this framed gouache are 23" x 14" and the visible art measures 18 1/4" x 9 3/4".
