Featured in this lot is this Tom Taber carved wooden female Mallard duck decoy circa 1980's. The decoy features a wonderfully and professionally crafted wooden construction that shows a carved lifelike design with painted features and glass eyes. The bottom of the decoy is signed ' Tom Taber'. Tom Taber was born and raised in Michigan into a family of sportsmen along the great Michigan flyways. At an early age he was introduced to the sport of duck hunting by his Great Uncle “Doc” and they always hunted over Doc's finely carved decoys. The condition of this wooden duck decoy is well preserved with some very slight wear to the painted wood but otherwise shows a well preserved condition. The measurements of this decoy is 15 3/4" x 4 5/8" x 6 1/8". The collective weight of this duck decoy is 1lb 14oz.
