Featured in this lot is this Tombstone, Arizona Territory miner's drift knife and hand forged iron knife blank circa 19th century and were displayed in the Tombstone Western Heritage Museum; Provenance: From the Tombstone Western Heritage Museum in Tombstone, Arizona. There are two tools in this collection. The first is a rustic hand forged iron knife blank with the octagonal shafted ready to be milled into its tang. The knife shows promise with shape and has yet to be fine tuned into a legitimate knife. The second knife is a miners "drift knife" with a curved edge and a clip point, time has eroded the handle but the knife appears in preserved condition with the full tang presented correctly and a pewter pommel. The knife comes with an original museum tag that reads as follows: Miner's Drift Knife found in Tombstone. The condition of this drift knife and knife tang blank is preserved with heavy oxidation adorning the blank and some slight oxidation and wear to the drift knife consistent with age. The measurements of this pair of tools is 8" x 1 1/4" and 6 1/2" x 7/8". The collective weight of this pair of tools is 10oz. M-052
