Featured in this lot is this Tombstone, Arizona Ideal MFG Co. .38 cal bullet mold circa early 1900's and was displayed in the Tombstone Western Heritage Museum; Provenance: From the Tombstone Western Heritage Museum in Tombstone, Arizona. The bullet mold features a wonderfully and professionally crafted stainless steel construction that is marked on the handles as follows: Ideal MFG Co. New Haven, Conn. U.S.A. - 38 L.O.L. \In the early 1900s, the Ideal Manufacturing Company was a prominent producer of bullet molds and reloading tools, highly regarded by shooters and reloaders for their precision and quality. Their .38 caliber bullet mold, often made of cast iron with wooden handles, was a popular item among handgun enthusiasts and reloaders, allowing users to cast their own lead bullets at home. The mold typically produced round-nose or semi-wadcutter bullets, suitable for revolvers of the era. Ideal’s tools were considered essential equipment for sportsmen and target shooters during a time when factory ammunition could be costly or hard to obtain in remote areas. The bullet mold comes with an original museum tag that reads as follows: Bullet Mold - made by Ideal Mfg. Co. Donated by George Shindo. The condition of this of this Ideal bullet mold is well preserved with no obvious signs of damage with some patina to the stainless steel but otherwise shows a well preserved condition. The measurements of this bullet mold is 8" x 3" x 1 1/4". The collective weight of this bullet mold is 1lb. G-156
