Featured in this lot are various pieces of Masonic ephemera from the Cochise Lodge No. 5 in Tombstone, Arizona from 1880s to 1920s. The Cochise Lodge No. 5 was instituted in Tombstone, Arizona Territory on August 9th, 1881. The first two pieces in this lot are large ribbon pins with decorative tassels and large button like tops. The ribbon is marked with golg gilt lettering reading, "I.O.O.F Cochise Lodge No. 5 / Tombstone, A.T.". Two small checks are present and written out to the Treasurer of Cochise Lodge No. 5, I.O.O.F., one for forty dollars and one for forty-two dollars. One check was likely payment for a new member, while another one is marked for "Rent". The fifth piece is a "By-Laws / Cochise Lodge No. 5, I.O.O.F." booklet. It details various laws and codes that members must follow. It tells meeting locations and times, officer duties and more. The sixth piece is a larger check written to a man for six dollars, paid out by the Hall of Cochise Lodge No. 5, I.O.O.F. in 1886. The seventh, eighth, ninth and tenth items are unused papers pertaining to the lodge such as a blank ledger, a blank money account paper of the lodge, a blank notification to a lodge meeting and a blank notification paper for becoming a member. The pieces show good condition overall with wear some wear present from their age and use over the years, but no major signs of damage is noted. The pin ribbons measure 9 1/4" L x 3" W x 3/4" D, while the paper items measure from 2 3/4" L x 5 3/8" W to 8 3/8" L x 5 5/8" W. The pieces have a collective weight of 8 ounces.
