Featured in this lot is this Tombstone Epitaph Tombstone, Arizona Territory type set and printing blocks circa 1880's with a Stanley C. Bragg Business card and were housed in the Tombstone Western Heritage Museum; Provenance: From the Tombstone Western Heritage Museum in Tombstone, Arizona. This lot includes a collection of Original Type Set owned by Hubert a private contractor for the Tombstone Epitaph and includes a total of 15 type and an original museum tag that reads as follows: Type from the Epitaph Newspaper - Typesetters worked as private contractors and owned all their own type with which the papers were set and printed. This type was owned by Hubert Jesse's father who brought them to Tombstone when he went to work for the Tombstone Epitaph. The second item is a printing block from the Tombstone Epitaph and shows a portrait of a J.M. Tricker and is marked on the top as follows: McK & B - Paid $X - J.M. Tricker Pho. 1893; the print block comes complete with an original museum tag that reads as follows: Printing Block from the Epitaph Newspaper. The second print block shows a street scene with businesses lining the right and left side of the street and comes complete with an original museum tag that reads as follows: Printing Block from the Epitaph Newspaper of 1880's Allen Street. The last item is an official business card for one Stanley C. Bragg who work for the Daily Prospector, and Weekly Epitaph out of Tombstone, Arizona. The condition of this of this collection of type set and printing blocks is well preserved with no obvious signs of damage with some slight wear to the printing blocks consistent with age but otherwise shows a well preserved overall condition. The measurements of the type ranges from 1" x 3/4" x 1/2" to 7/8" x 1/2" x 1/4"; and the print blocks measure 2 3/4" x 4 3/4" x 1" and 2 1/2" x 3" x 7/8". The collective weight of this collection of type and printing blocks is 1lb 4oz.
