Featured in this lot is this pair of highly detailed, Tony Lama inlaid leather boots from the late 20th century. Tony Lama Sr., a U.S. Cavalry cobbler, founded Tony Lama Boots in El Paso, Texas, in 1911. From a modest repair business, the company developed into a leading Western boot manufacturer renowned for its exotic and high-quality leathers. The company, which was eventually purchased by Justin Brands in 1990, gained international recognition for creating cowboy boots that were comfortable, long-lasting, and fashionable. These boots feature a black leather base with red inlay and overlay leather designs on the front and back of the shaft, top of the toe and heel. Beige diamond designs adorn the top of the shaft while floral designs of white and tan cover the bottom. Original Tony Lama tags are still connected to the boots. The interior of the boots are marked reading, "Tony Lama / Reg. No. 32810241 / Style 8505 L / Size 5 1/2 M". They show good condition overall with little wear present and no signs of damage noted. They measure 10 3/8" L x 3 1/2" W x 12 7/8" H and have a collective weight of 1 pound and 14 ounces.
