Featured in this lot is this Torajans tribal, South Sulawesi, Indonesian, water buffalo bone and horn inlaid horse carving, circa 1920's. The piece features a fantastic inlaid water buffalo bone sculpture of a prancing horse. The horse shows rectangular and polygonal inlaid pieces of bone, showing fantastic construction and a saddle; the harness is adorned with brass implements decorated with other painted cloisonne adornments and coloration of light green, green, blue, light blue, and red. The sculpture is mounted on a brown color pine wood shield. The condition of this inlaid horse is good, with no obvious signs of damage. The measurements of this inlaid horse are 26" x 29 1/2" x 9".
