Offered in this lot is this Rare "Totem Tales Indian Stories Indian Told" by W. S. Phillips, 1903, Star Publishing Co., Chicago. Totem Tales Indian Stories Indian Told Gathered In The Pacific Northwest" is a collection of traditional Native American tales and legends from the Pacific Northwest. Compiled by Walter S. Phillips (1867-1940), a well-known historian and collector of Native American folklore, the book features stories from various tribes, including the Tlingit, Haida, and Kwakiutl. The tales are presented in their original form, as they were told by the indigenous people themselves, and offer insight into the beliefs, customs, and values of these cultures. The book also includes illustrations by renowned artist Paul Goble, adding to the visual appeal of the stories.
