For your consideration is this collection of 11 traditional German steins. Most of the steins are painted relief scenes; only two are printed scenes. At least four of the steins were made by Thewalt. Thewalt was the oldest beer stein factory in Hohr-Grenzhousen, a town in the Rhineland known for its ceramic industry. Thewalt was founded in 1893; it was run by the Thewalt family until it closed in late 2009. Other manufacturers could not be identified. Most of the steins are .5 liter size. The largest is marked "1 liter" (12" tall and 4.5" in circumference at the base) and the smallest is marked "1/8 liter"--both Thewalts incidentally. All the steins are in excellent condition.
