Featured in this lot is this traditional Zulu Isiquabetho woven basket woven by Betsy Khumall. The basket features a wonderfully and professionally crafted Ilala Palm and Grass construction that shows a graduated star pattern to the inner and outer side walling of the basket. An Isiquabetho is a large basin shaped basket used for gathering and carrying grain, the smaller ones are used for serving dry foods such as beans fruit and nuts. The basket shows its original identification tag. The condition of this Isiquabetho basket is good with no obvious signs of damage and in good overall condition. The measurements of this basket are 3 1/2" x 18 1/2" x 18 1/2".
