Featured in this lot is this Ilham New Turtle Trade Mark The "Turtle Trade Mark" fishing creels are recognized for their unique turtle-shaped clasps and high-quality wicker construction. These creels, with a golden patina and strengthened rims, were made in the mid-twentieth century, mostly in the northeastern United States. This creel shows a nice, bamboo weave construction and leather accents and reinforcements. It shows a padded leather shoulder strap for easy carrying and a leather loop handle on the back. The back of the creel shows a stamp reading, "Ilhan New / Turtle Trade Mark". The leather accents have been tooled with geometric designs on the top and front of the leather accents. The lid is secured by a leather and metal buckle. The creel shows good condition overall with wear present from its age and use over the years, but no major signs of damage is noted. Wear present to the bamboo weave. It measures 7 1/2" L x 13 3/4" W x 8 1/4" H and weighs 1 pound and 12 ounces.
