Featured in this lot are two Stellmacher Teplitz ceramic vases made in Turn bei Teplitz, Bohemia, Austria-Hungarian Empire (now Trnovany, Czech Republic) circa 1890-1905. After starting his career at the Imperial & Royal Porcelain Works in Vienna, Alfred Stellmacher established his own factory in Turn-Teplitz in 1859. Ernst Wahliss, born in 1836, assumed control of the Alfred Stellmacher factory in 1894. Ernst Wahliss Kunst, Porzellan und Fayence Fabrik became the new name of the factory. In 1900, Ernst passed away. Hans and Erich, his sons, purchased 600 molds from the Imperial and Royal Porcelain Manufactory in Vienna two years later and began producing Vienna porcelain replicas using these molds. The business was renamed Alexandra Porcelain Works Ernst Wahliss in 1905. The first piece shows an elongated stem and a large half-loop handle. The piece shows a young boy in pink pants and a white shirt standing next to a small chicken. The piece shows a dark green color and is marked on the bottom reading, "Stellmacher Teplitz". The second piece shows a golden bronze color with two small handles on either side of the opening. This piece features a woman on the front holding a small yellow bowl and is wearing a yellow beaded necklace, a green dress and a pink head scarf. This piece is marked on the bottom reading, "Stellmacher Teplitz / Austria". The first piece measures 9 1/4" H x 6" W and has a circumference 16 3/4". The second piece measures 7 1/2" H x 4 5/8" W and has a circumference of 16". The collective weight of both ceramics is 2 pounds and 4 ounces.
