For your consideration are two Zuni Sleeping Beauty turquoise snake effigy rings done by Zuni silversmith Effie Calavaza. Effie Calavaza is a Zuni Silversmith whose work has captured the hearts of many collectors. She was born in 1928 and started making jewelry in her early years. Effie also went all the way to the Supreme Court of the United States of America to obtain full copyright of her art work to stop those from importing fake pieces of her work. Now in her 90's, Effie mostly supervises her daughters silverwork she has passed her designs down to her daughters. Her work is collected throughout the world. The first and larger ring shows a snake creating a shadow box for two Sleeping Beauty turquoise cabochons. The snake head features two small inlaid Sleeping Beauty turquoise cabochons for its eyes. The ring is stamped on the underside reading, "Effie C, Sterling". This ring measures 7/8" L x 7/8" W x 1" H and weighs 14.7 grams. The second smaller ring is also done by Effie Calavaza and features the same snake shadow box style with two Sleeping Beauty turquoise cabochons set in the center. The underside of the ring is stamped, "Effie C, Sterling". This ring measures 6/8" L x 6/8" W x 7/8" H and weighs 3.5 grams. Both rings show good condition with no signs of damage or wear. The large ring is sized US 8, while the small ring is size US 8 as well.
