For your consideration is this U.S. Military Cavalry issued canteen and curry comb circa 1860-1920's. The canteen shows design closer to WWI era 1915's with a cork top that is chained to the frame of the canteen and clothed in green canvas. The curry comb shows a slotted design and shows a 'Bluegrass' stamp on the back top of the comb; this comb would have been used to care for the cavalrymen's horse before and after battle or patrol, and the square design would make it easier to store and access with the style of equipment carries of the day. The condition of this issued canteen and curry comb is fair the canteen shows its age and wear consistent with that age and the comb shows good usable condition with very little oxidation. The measurements of this of of the canteen are 8 1/2" x 7 1/2" and the curry comb measures 8 3/4" x 5 1/2" x 2 1/2".
