For your consideration is this USN boarding pike spear point circa 1812 around the Gilkersons War. This is just the point showing a primarily round base but ending in the traditional four-sided head. Simple spike was intended to be an effective defensive weapon for thrusting through boarding nets and even in crowded offensive actions were there was often not room to swing a cutting weapon. The condition of this spike is good, its well preserved for its age, however showing slight oxidation to the blade and to the point. The measurements of this spike are 20" x 3/4" x 3/4".
