Featured in this lot is this original framed oil on canvas painting done by Livingston, Montana artist Valerie Amon (1969-Present). Valerie, who was born in 1969 in Livingston, Montana, developed an interest in art as a child after her mother, Patricia, and grandmother, Helen, introduced her to the creative process. While she showed aptitude in painting and illustration throughout high school, Valerie sought a more "practical" education, earning degrees in Public Relations and Advertising from Northern Arizona University in 1992. After several unfulfilling years in a corporate setting in Phoenix, Valerie found her early passion for art was as strong as ever and went to Arizona State University to obtain a Master's degree in Fine Art. After a few more years in Arizona, Valerie and her husband decided it was time to move on to Taos, New Mexico. Valerie and her family thought it was time for a change after five years of studying and painting in Taos, so they moved to Boulder, Colorado, where she now lives with her husband and children. She is now represented by Nichols Taos Fine Art Gallery in Taos, New Mexico, and Tierra Montana Gallery in Livingston, Montana. The painting shows an abstract river and wilderness scene. The river can be seen winding through the valley, trees and bushes as grey and white clouds roll over the towering mountains in the background.
