For your consideration are these Venetian glass trade beads, circa early 1900's. There are four trade bead necklaces in this collection, with smoky colors of translucent ovular beads shown on all four necklaces and some beads showing dark blue beads and speckled light blue brown beads throughout. Venetian trade beads are trade beads that were made in Venice, Italy. The Venetians are renowned for the commercial production of beautiful glass beads in large quantities. This started in the 15th Century and continued until the early 1900s. The Venetians were the forerunners in the industry. The measurements of these necklaces are 12" from necklace knot to the tip of the necklace, with an average bead size of 1" x 1/4".
