For your consideration this lot includes Two (2) Very Rare Hand-Carved African Kudu Horns. Each horn has a herd of elephants and savanna trees carved onto the horns with the elephants graduating in size down from the tips to the base. Each horn is mounted onto 5.25" diameter brass overlay metal bases. Kudus – the largest species of antelope – are woodland antelopes that are found throughout eastern and southern Africa. The horns of a male Kudu have 2.5 twists and – when straightened – the average length is 47” ; the record length is 74”. These horns are approximately 34"L each from base to tip, and make a stunning addition to an East or South African wildlife collection. Amazing craftsmanship. Each horn is in very fine condition, exhibits rich patina and awesome detailing, no obvious marring noted. Measurements average 6"W x 34"H
