Featured in this lot is this Victor Ario rough out batwing chaps circa 1960's. The chaps features wonderfully and professionally crafted leather construction and features a batwing design to the chaps that features concho decoration lining the leggings and shows clasp hookups and a solid leather belt and buckle. Victor Ario Saddlery was established in Great Falls, Montana in 1897. It was in business custom-building up to 500 saddles a year until 1957. It's saddlemakers then purchased the saddlery and formed H bar 0 Saddlery which continued until 1978. Upon retiring, the saddlemakers sold out and Grizzly Saddlery was born. Victor Ario immigrated to the United States from Austria, and moved to Great Falls, MT in 1891. When Victor Ario arrived in Great Falls, MT he went to work for J. B. Steffen and Tom Moreland where he worked as a saddle maker applying the trade he had learned in Austria from his Father. By 1903, Victor Ario was sole owner of the Victor Ario Saddlery Company which over the coming years led to big success. The pair of chaps comes complete with a thick harness leather quirt. The condition of this pair of chaps is good with some wear due to age and use but otherwise is in good overall condition. The overall measurements of this pair of chaps are 35 1/2" x 33" and the inseam measures 26" and the waist measures 36".
