Featured in this lot is this Victor Victrola VV-X Floor Standing Photograph circa early 1900's. The Victrola VV-X was a highly influential, floor-standing phonograph introduced by the Victor Talking Machine Company in 1910. Initially launching with an open-shelf base design, the model evolved by 1912 into the classic fully enclosed cabinet structure seen here, which features internal shelves and vertical slotted dividers to store standard 78 RPM shellac records. Built with a hand-cranked, double-spring motor, the VV-X housed its speaker horn inside the upper-middle section of the cabinet; users adjusted the music's volume simply by opening or closing the two front wooden doors. As one of Victor's most affordable and popular full-sized models of its era, it brought high-quality acoustic playback into thousands of American living rooms before its production ended in 1921.
